GridEon documentation
GridEon is a local monitoring platform for solar installations. It runs on a Raspberry Pi or Orange Pi and reads data straight from the inverter and the battery BMS.
How it works
The GridEon device connects to your equipment over RS485 (Modbus) or USB. It reads values continuously, stores them locally and shows them in a web interface you open in a browser, on your phone or computer, on your own network.
- Main dashboard: live power flow, weather, production forecast and device status.
- Charts: production, consumption, battery, grid and each MPPT.
- Reports: daily and monthly totals, with CSV export.
- MQTT: data for Home Assistant and other apps.
Where to start
- Check the required hardware.
- Write the GridEon image to a card: Preparing the device.
- Start the device and open the interface: Starting the device.
- Activate your licence: Licence activation.
- Connect the inverter and battery using the guide for your model.
TipYou only need internet to activate the licence and to reach the system from outside your home. Otherwise GridEon works locally, on your own network.
