Deye

GridEon reads Deye inverters through the RS485 communication port, using the Modbus RTU protocol.

Step 1 · Find the inverter's RS485 port

Look in the inverter manual for the RS485 (Modbus) communication port and the pins for lines A (+) and B (−).

Good to knowThe battery BMS port and the RS485 monitoring port are usually different ports. Use the monitoring one.

Step 2 · Connect the USB–RS485 adapter

  • A on the inverter to A (+) on the adapter
  • B on the inverter to B (−) on the adapter
  • GND, if both the adapter and the port have it

Use a twisted pair for A and B. Plug the adapter into a USB port on the GridEon device.

Step 3 · Set up the inverter in GridEon

Go to Settings → Inverter, choose Deye as the brand, then the model and the adapter's serial port. Save.

Step 4 · Check the data

On the Devices page, the inverter should show Online, with its serial number, power and output voltage.

Troubleshooting

  • The inverter stays Offline: swap the A and B wires. This is the most common cause.
  • Data drops out now and then: shorten the cable or use shielded twisted-pair cable.
  • The serial port doesn't appear: unplug and replug the adapter, then reload the settings page.
