Mini PC installation

Besides the Raspberry Pi image, GridEon will also install on a mini PC (x86-64) or an Orange Pi (arm64) already running Ubuntu Server or Debian.

Coming soonThe installation script is being tested. When it's ready, the install command appears in your GridEon account, under Downloads.

What you'll need

  • Ubuntu Server 24.04 LTS or Debian 12/13, installed and connected to the network.
  • Terminal access (directly or over SSH), with a user that has sudo rights.
  • The USB–RS485 adapters, connected as on the Raspberry Pi (cables and wiring).

How installation will work

  1. Copy the install command from your account and run it in the terminal.
  2. The script installs GridEon as a system service, with the interface on port 80.
  3. Continue with the first start, from the web password step.

Updates work the same as on the Raspberry Pi, from the interface. The kiosk screen and the Wi-Fi setup network are specific to the Raspberry Pi image.
